The ANLH is an association of disabled people and able-bodied people. Its aim is to promote social integration of severely physically handicapped people by ensuring that they are provided with housing conditions and an environment suited to their needs. At a more particular level, the association concentrates its activities in six main lines: adapted private housing, assistance in the activities of the daily life (AJV), accessibility, transport, training and research, and information. The ANLH is recognised by Brussels authority as a centre of expert advice in matters of accessibility where it comes to the granting of building permits or urban development. For several years the ANHL has published reference works on accessibility, not only for the Brussels and Walloon regional authorities, but at the European level. Its general concern revolve around the concepts of "the City for All", "housing for all", and "public spaces for all". Some of its publications are designed for specialist bodies (technical documents), and others for the general public. Association Nationale pour le Logement des personnes Handicapées

In particular, researchers are well acquainted and are interested in methods of design of products and buildings with universal applications. They have a vast fund of knowledge of projects and of practical examples of accessibility in Denmark. They have an extensive network of organisations in this field, both in Denmark and internationally.
